2008: The year Barack Obama was inaugurated as President of the United States, Kevin Rudd gave his ‘sorry’ speech to the indigenous of our nation, the Olympics were held in Beijing and the world was rocked by widespread fear, not of a virus but by the fallout of the global financial crisis.
Fast forward to 2020.
It’s been building for a while but 2020 was the year for Oxford Falls Grammar to begin an inaugural celebration of our Year 12 students who have been here since Kindergarten; a total of 13 years. This year we had over 30 students who will complete their entire primary and secondary schooling at Oxford Falls Grammar, having started at the age of 4, 5, or 6 back in 2008.
Due to current Covid-19 restrictions it was a smaller affair than planned including the Class of 2020, Principal Dr. Downey, Head of Senior School Juliette Siemsen and current year coordinators Ms. Dani Creeley and Mr Dale Drain.
The students who achieved the milestone were presented with a special badge “OFGS K-12” that they can proudly wear on their blazers.
If you’re an Alum who is part of the K-12 club from past graduating years do let us know, log in to the community and add your name in a comment at the bottom and we will see about arranging your own commemorative pin!
